Privacy Policy

Effective May 12, 2026

This policy explains what Beryl collects, why, and the choices you have. We collect the minimum we need to run the app and we do not sell your personal information.

What we collect

Account details you give us (name, email, password). Financial data you enter (accounts, balances, transactions, budgets, goals, loans). Basic technical data (device type, app version, crash logs) to keep the app working.

How we use it

To provide and sync your data across your devices, to support you, to improve reliability and features, and to keep the service secure. We use service providers (for example, hosting and authentication) who process data on our behalf under confidentiality obligations.

Sharing

We share data only with those service providers, when required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of users. We do not sell your personal information or share it for advertising.

Security & retention

Data is encrypted in transit and protected with industry-standard safeguards. We keep your information while your account is active. When you delete your account we delete or anonymize it, except where we must retain limited records by law.

Your choices

You can view, edit, export, or delete your data from Settings. You can disable biometric lock at any time. Depending on where you live you may have additional rights to access or restrict processing — contact us to exercise them.

Bring-your-own AI keys

If you add your own AI provider key (Google Gemini, OpenAI, or Anthropic), that key is stored only on your device — never on our servers. When you chat, the financial context you choose to send is transmitted directly to that provider under their terms.
